RHIAN GWEN

Rhian Gwen is a writer, Headteacher, mum, and creator whose books weave together themes of love, healing, and the wisdom of nature. Her work is rooted in her own journey through loss and renewal, and she is deeply passionate about helping children and families find comfort, connection, and hope when they need it most.

Her Mission – She is dedicated to raising awareness around open, healthy conversations about death, dying, and loss within schools, and to bringing grief education into the Welsh Curriculum. She strives to support children through trauma and grief in ways that help them process their emotions safely—so that these experiences are not stored in their bodies, only to re-emerge later in life. Her vision is for a world where children grow up feeling supported, understood, and able to express their emotions with confidence and compassion.

She has written a growing collection of heartfelt books:

Your Loving Light – a tender children’s picture book that offers comfort in times of grief and helps little ones discover that love continues to shine even when someone special is no longer physically near.

My Loving Light Companion & Grief Journal – an interactive journal filled with gentle prompts, reflections, and creative activities designed to support children and families as they navigate grief together.

My Light Still Shines – a heartwarming Christmas story reminding children and families that love never fades, even in the darkest of winters, and that a special light always shines close.

Let’s Talk About Loss – Teen Edition – a compassionate guide for teenagers, offering honest conversations, reflective tools, and gentle support to help them understand and navigate grief safely and openly.

Let’s Talk About Loss – Children’s Edition – a warm, accessible resource helping younger children explore their feelings, ask questions, and find comfort as they learn how to talk about grief with clarity and hope.

Mother Earth’s BIG Book of Autumn – a seasonal activity book celebrating the magic of autumn through crafts, mindfulness exercises, nature activities, and stories that help children connect with the cycles of the earth.

Through her writing, online meditations and wider creative work, Rhian Gwen hopes to create a safe, nurturing space where families can explore both the joys and sorrows of life’s seasons, guided always by love, nature, and light.
