💛 Why I’ve Created This Online Group for Children 💛
As a headteacher, I see every day how many children are quietly carrying trauma, grief and big worries in their hearts. I witness this in classrooms, playgrounds and quiet moments—and I also see how desperately they need safe spaces to express those feelings. Sadly, many charities are currently overwhelmed, with families facing long waiting lists for support. That gap is one of the reasons I felt so strongly called to create this group.
Over the past few years, I’ve seen just how powerful creativity, journaling, gentle mindfulness—and stories—can be in helping children make sense of what they’re feeling, especially after loss, change, or difficult experiences. I have written my own gentle stories and a grief journal specifically for children, because I’ve seen how much they need resources that truly speak their language and meet them where they are.
Stories allow children to explore grief at a safe distance, to see their feelings reflected, and to begin understanding that they are not alone.
This online group is a safe, gentle space where children can:
- explore their feelings through creative activities
- use journaling in a child-friendly way
- learn simple calming and mindfulness tools
- explore grief and emotions through gentle, supportive stories
- feel less alone in what they’re experiencing
There is absolutely no pressure to speak, share, or be on camera beyond what feels comfortable. Children can simply listen, draw, write, and take part in their own way. Everything is designed with kindness, safety and emotional wellbeing at the heart.
This group is very close to my heart. It has been created with love, care, and a deep belief that every child deserves support, understanding and hope—especially during life’s harder seasons.
I’ll share the full invitation and registration link below. If you feel this might gently support your child, you are very welcome to join us.
With love,
RHIAN GWEN ✨
